SOCIAL MEDIA: Bracing for the Backlash
Join us on Wednesday 15 May for an engaging discussion about navigating the complex world of social media. It’s an unavoidable part of the media industry today but for all its advantages, it can lead to insults, hate, fury and in extreme cases, even death threats. So how do you brace for the backlash? How can you rise above, to get the most out of it? And, is there an upside to social media that we may miss in the melee?
6PR presenter Jane Marwick will lead a dynamic panel discussion with Ginger Gorman, journalist and author of Troll Hunting, Dr Catherine Archer, social media expert, and Andrew O’Connor, News Director ABC Perth.
Wednesday 15 May 2019 – 6 to 9pm
State Library of Western Australia, Perth Cultural Centre
